Inspired by sealionii, I give you, “The Fifteen Game”! Here are the rules:
Step 1: Put your MP3 player or whatever on random.
Step 2: Post the first line from the first 15 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song.
Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from.
Step 4: Strike out the songs when someone guesses correctly.
Step 5: Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is CHEATING!

This should be tricky. Two of them are foreign language, one of them contains the song’s entire lyrics, and one of them technically isn’t really part of the song, but it was the first lines in the mp3, so I figure that’s close enough.
Of course, some of them are ridiculously easy; I expect them to fall very quickly. So get guessing!

Let’s see. We have 5) Alanis Morissette, “One Hand in My Pocket”, and 9) They Might Be Giants, “The Sun is a Mass of Incandescent Gas”
I will take a total flyer on 2) and guess the artist is t.A.T.u., but I don’t know the song, and I don’t know how to make the computer display Cyrillic characters, so I couldn’t type it out anyway.
As for the rest…I have no idea.

4) “Escape from Planet of the Apes” from TMBG’s _Severe Tire Damage_
That was tough, and is the only one I’m not sure about. There are too many “Planet of the Apes” songs on that disc.

#2 is indeed t.A.T.u. Here is the first line transliterated: “Razniye nochi, razniye lyudi, hochet ne hochet, lyubit ne lyubit”. Unfortunately I don’t think that will help much–it picked even one of the more obscure t.A.T.u. songs that I have.
#4 is not “Escape from the Planet of the Apes”, which is actually my favorite of the extra Severe Tire Damage tracks. It is one of the other tracks, however.
